Showers to the People!

Showers to the People!

Showers are a persistent need in the homeless community. Showers to the People! is a mobile shower program in efforts to answer this need but mostly, an effort to respect the human dignity of sisters and brothers living on the streets.  As with all we do at the Catholic Worker, our goal is to treat everyone we meet with the reverence we would accord to Christ himself.  Showers are a basic way to empower our friends so they can feel clean and hold their heads up high. Offering showers is also an important way to deepen our ties with the homeless community.

Click to View Volunteer Opportunities on SignUp.comWe currently offer showers at the African American Community Service Agency (304 N 6th St.) on Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 PM till 4:00 PM; on Sundays at Corie Ct. in San Jose from 1:30 PM till 4:30 PM; and in the parking lot of the Tully Ballfields next to Tully Library on Mondays from 1:30 PM till 4:30 PM. If you are interested in volunteering please click here, or the button to the right.
